Elroy-Sparta Trail

Elroy-Sparta State Trail

Developed in 1967, this is the granddaddy of rail trails. It shows in the mature trees that create a full canopy over the trail. The main attractions are the three tunnels. One of them is 3/4 of a mile long and requires a flashlight to negotiate.

$4.25

The trail runs through the stunning Driftless area of SW Wisconsin. First timers come for the trail. Repeat visitors explore the scenic, paved and low traffic backroads that link to the trail.
